Tracing Down The Beginning Of Feud Between Jay-Z And Robert De Niro

The feud between the hip rap star and the acclaimed actor allegedly began at Leonardo DiCaprio’s birthday party in 2012. The star-studded celebration included De Niro and Beyoncé’s spouse in attendance. When the rapper approached De Niro to greet him, the actor took the opportunity to lecture the rapper about not returning his phone calls. The Godfather Part II star emphasized the importance of basic courtesy and expressed his dissatisfaction with Jay-Z’s lack of response. An insider from the party shared the details of the feud, giving a glance into the heated conversation of the duo.

“Bob was sitting at a table, and when Jay-Z went over to say hello, De Niro told Jay that he never called him back. Bob wasn’t in any mood to make polite conversation. He told Jay that if somebody calls you six times, you call them back. It doesn’t matter who you are, that is just rude. Beyoncé came over, but that didn’t calm Bob down. It was the talk of the party. Everyone was saying there’s only one star in New York bigger and badder than Jay-Z, and that’s Robert De Niro. He can be quite scary when he’s angry.”

The clash between Jay-Z and Robert De Niro became the talk of the party and soon of the media as well. While De Niro never publicly confirmed the details of the incident, the rapper subtly acknowledged the existence of some rough patches between him and the acclaimed actor. Though the feud is reported to have ended in 2016 when the duo was seen together at the amfAR gala.
